EV Charging Point installation
ecoEV is an electrical engineering company, specialising in EV charging point installations and upgrades. We take care of the whole installation process, including design, so your installation is perfect in every way.
There are so many charging points out there that it can be difficult to choose. We will lift the lid on what’s best for you based on your property’s power supply, your charger, your budget, and your vehicle.
We have installed over a hundred charging points in domestic and commercial properties in Hull and East Yorkshire. We fit all high-quality brands, offering charge speeds from 7kW to 22kW, depending on your power supply.
We have experience in all types of EV charging point installations, from residential to commercial, and our team is always on hand to answer your questions and guide you through the process.
We pride ourselves on our customer service and professionalism, and strive to provide you with the best possible service.
We are also certified and approved by the relevant governing bodies, so you can rest assured that your installation is in safe hands.
Domestic Prices From £899
You can expect to pay £899 to £1,299 on average for a domestic EV charger, depending on the complexity of the installation and the hardware.
Commercial customers can access the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) to get up to 75% off the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge points (inclusive of VAT), capped at £350 per socket and 40 sockets across all sites per applicant.
Full Design and Installation
It’s easy to imagine EV charger installation as the simple process of sticking the unit to a wall and wiring it in. Of course, there’s a little more to it than that.
RCD location, unit signal strength, cable length, whether you want the unit hidden, and where and how you park are all critical considerations for good design.
Cable and wiring installation, splitting the feed after the meter, dedicated earth installation and other design considerations are part of the job. You won’t need to worry about anything because we take care of everything.
Charging Units
We offer over 20 charging units from leading brands, including Tesla, Ohme, Project EV, Podpoint, Pulsar, Andersen, EO, Rolec, Hypervolt, Zappi and EVBox.
Most domestic customers opt for a charging point up to 7.4kW, but 11kW chargers are growing in popularity due to more EVs supporting them (you need 3-phase for this). Commercial properties on a three-phase power supply can get 22kW chargers.
We offer the best chargers on the market, with features like Wi-Fi and 4G, tethered and untethered designs, slimline units, solar integration, load balancing, smart grid ready, three phase, no earth rod requirements and much more.
Our Process
After submitting our enquiry form, we’ll contact you to arrange a free, no-obligation survey of your property and discuss your needs.
We’ll recommend charging units based on your technical requirements and budget during the survey. A detailed quote will be provided, fixed for 30 days.
When you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll book your installation date and order your charging unit from the manufacturer or one of our suppliers.
All installations are completed within one working day, with one or two technicians working on installations, depending on installation complexity.
3 year guarantee
You will receive a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate and a Part P certificate issued by NAPIT within 30 days of installation.
All charge points have a minimum 3-year on-site warranty on parts and installation. You will be given all charge point documentation to maintain your warranty, and we will certify your electrical installation as safe.
Looking for your first home charger?
If you‘re looking to install an EV home charger, there are a few things you should consider.
First, you should check with your utility company to see if there are any rebates or special rates available for EV charging.
Next, you should decide which type of charger you would like to install. It‘s important to research the types of chargers available to make sure you choose one that meets your needs.
You should also consider the installation costs, as well as the cost of maintaining the charger.
Finally, you should make sure the charger is compatible with your electric vehicle (some chargers connect to your vehicle’s API to collect more data).
